VEISHEA 2009

The ECpE department will have fun, interactive electronics and technology demonstrations on display April 18 from noon to 4:30 p.m. in Coover Hall and the ECpE Building Addition. The displays include:

  • Interaction with a robot: See our developmental robotics faculty and graduate students demonstrate the learning capabilities of their upper-torso humanoid robot.

  • Information security introduction: The Information Assurance Student Group will demonstrate a password tester, to find out how secure your password is; COLDSNAP, an Internet strategy game developed for promoting information security that you can join; and a packet sniffer, which is a system that collects instant messenger traffic of other computers to show basics on information gathering and security holes.

  • Senior design displays: See senior design groups show of their unmanned aerial vehicles and omindirectional robot.

  • Student chapter demonstrations: The student chapters of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Critical Tinkers, and Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) will showcase a device that wirelessly lights up a light bulb, teach you how to build a speaker using a Styrofoam plate and wire, and present other electronics demonstrations.

  • Graduate research posters: View research posters created by graduate students, and learn more about the ECpE department’s innovative research.
