U.S. Department of Homeland Security Scholarships
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Scholarship program covers tuition and fees, as well as provides a $1,000 per month stipend during the academic year and $5,000 for a required 10-week summer internship. Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program
The Goldwater Scholarship is for students who will be college juniors or seniors pursuing careers in math, natural sciences, or engineering. Scholarship covers up to $7,500 in tuition, fees, books, room, and board annually. Deadline: January 27
Utility Wind Integration Group Scholarship
The Utility Wind Integration Group provides one to two $2,000 scholarships each year to undergraduate students at accredited engineering schools pursuing careers in power engineering with a focus on wind generation. Deadline: January 28
YWCA Ames-ISU Scholarship
Each year, the YWCA Ames-ISU Scholarship program awards a $1,000 scholarship to one female undergraduate or graduate student. Deadline: January 28
NEW! U.S. Electric Power Engineering Scholarship
The IEEE Power and Energy Society is offering G. Ray Ekenstam Memorial Scholarships up to $5,000 each for undergraduates seeking an electrical engineering degree in the field of power or a related discipline. Deadline: January 31
Microsoft Scholarship Program

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program provides awards for undergraduates to study abroad. Applicants must be U.S. citizens planning to study abroad and must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant. Deadline: March 1
AFCEA Young Entrepreneur Scholarship
Awards for the AFCEA Young Entrepreneur Scholarship are $2,000 per student. Scholarships are open to students in technology disciplines related to the mission of AFCEA while employed by a small business. Must be at least in second year of undergraduate program and must be U.S. citizen. Online learning students may be eligible. Deadline: March 1
Raymond G. Alvine Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Raymond G. Alvine Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarship from $500 to $3,000 each to undergraduate students pursuing mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering at Iowa State University and other select regional universities. Deadline: March 31
Roy J. Carver Scholarship
The Roy J. Carver Scholarship program awards average scholarships of $5,200 per student at Iowa State University. Applicants must be starting their junior year in the fall semester of the award year. Scholarships may be renewed for the student's senior year. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and demonstrate financial need and academic merit. Iowa residency requirements must also be met. AFCEA General John A. Wickham Scholarship
The AFCEA General John A. Wickham Scholarship offers $2,000 awards each to full-time students enrolled in accredited universities and studying electrical or computer engineering. Majors directly related to support of U.S. intelligence enterprises or national security are also eligible. Applicants must be enrolled full-time as sophomores or juniors at the time of application. ESA Foundation Computer & Video Game Scholarship Program
The ESA Foundation Computer & Video Game Scholarship Program awards up to 30 scholarship of $3,000 each to women and minorities pursuing an undergraduate degree leading to careers in computer and video game arts. Deadline: May 15
ISU Undergraduate Research Assistantship Program
Iowa State's Undergraduate Research Assistantship (URA) Program encourages outstanding juniors and seniors to pursue graduate studies by offering them hands-on experience in a formal research environment. To qualify for the URA program, students must be classified as a junior or senior by the beginning of fall semester, demonstrate financial need by filing the FAFSA, and maintain a ISU cumulative GPA of at least 3.25. The e8 Scholarship supports students pursuing a master's degree in an area related to sustainable energy development.
